The situation

The business had outgrown the Magento setup behind it.

CE Online operates a large ecommerce store with more than 30,000 products. When they came to us, the site was running on an outdated Magento version with ageing extensions, cart problems, broken layouts, slow performance and regular downtime.

The immediate priority was to stabilise the existing website so customers could shop reliably. Once that was under control, the project grew into a complete Magento redesign and rebuild.

What we inherited
✗Outdated Magento version and third-party extensions
✗Shopping cart issues affecting purchases
✗Broken layouts and frontend inconsistencies
✗Regular downtime and slow performance
✗Server infrastructure struggling with the demands of the store
✗A large product catalogue that was difficult to manage efficiently
“
Issues being picked up and resolved within a sensible timeframe, which has made a real difference day to day and made it much easier to manage priorities. I really appreciate the support and progress that’s been made, and I’m very happy with where things are now.

The turnaround

We fixed what was stopping the business first.

The first phase was about making CE Online’s existing Magento store dependable again. We carried out a full technical audit, fixed critical cart and checkout issues, repaired broken layouts and worked through extension and compatibility problems.

We also migrated the website onto a higher-configuration dedicated server and tuned the environment around Magento. That reduced downtime, improved stability and gave the business a stronger base while the longer-term plan was agreed.

Fix what’s failing first.

CE Online could keep trading while we dealt with the immediate technical problems and planned the next version of the platform properly.

The redesign

The Magento platform, redesigned around the business.

Once the store was dependable, CE Online entrusted us with a full redesign and Magento upgrade. We created a new interface, developed the existing platform using current Magento best practice and added custom functionality around the way the team actually manages a large catalogue.

That included a custom product-import system, backend improvements, performance-focused development, indexing and database work, Varnish, Redis and Cloudflare. The result was not simply a newer website. It was a platform better suited to the scale of the operation behind it.

Ongoing support includes
✓Magento upgrades and extension updates
✓New features and business-driven custom development
✓Performance optimisation and server management
